Hush

My mother sang "Hush Little Baby" to me as a child. It is now the first lullaby that comes to my mind to sing to a crying baby.

This has been a painting I've seen in my mind ever since I realized that I sing this lullaby to myself when I'm anxious or upset. Most of the time I run the lyrics through my mind while trying to fall asleep. I suppose I aim to quiet the restlessness within to allow dreams to takeover. I caught myself one day, and realized that it is a subconscious habit of mine!
